Dead stock is fabric that was produced for sale to manufacturers but was either over-produced or simply didn’t sell for any number of reasons. Birds' uses a lot of dead stock not only because they can find unusual things, but also because they're able to use up some of the fabric that already exists in the world without having to create more ‘stuff'.
